Warszawski Chór Chłopięcy

Warsaw Boys’ Choir was set up in 1990 by Krzysztof Kusiel-Moroz, a professor of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and subsequently its artistic director and conductor.

The choir has won international competitions, including First Prize at the famous International Competition of Choral Composition in Gorizia (Italy, 2007).

The ensemble has worked with eminent conductors including Antoni Wit, Kazimierz Kord, Grzegorz Nowak, Jacek Kaspszyk, Yoav Talmi, Philippe Herreweghe, Valery Gergiev, and Krzysztof Penderecki, whose works (Passion, Utrenja, Credo) have become part of the choir’s staple repertoire. Warsaw Boys’ Choir has performed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Norway, Lithuania, Slovakia, Italy and the United Kingdom, and has completed a number of tours of Japan and China.

The choir has recorded 18 CDs released on Naxos, Bridge, CD Accord, and Dux (Pergolesi’s and Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, Beethoven’s and Haydn’s masses, Penderecki’s Utrenja, Credo, Passion, and Magnificat, Schumann’s Scenes from Goethe's Faust, and Mahler’s 3rd and 8th symphonies) labels; recording of George Crumb’s Star-Child featuring the Warsaw Boys’ Choir won the Grammy Award in 2001.

The choir foundation, enjoying the status of a public benefit organisation, organises annual programmes of regular artistic education for children and young people as well as music workshop excursions.

This season, the choir is celebrating 25 years of its operation.
