Tomasz Januchta is a double bass player with the Warsaw Philharmonic. He collaborates with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles in Poland and abroad, such as Sinfonia Varsovia, the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Philharmonie der Nationen, the Transemble string quintet, the Royal Quartet, and the Prima Vista quartet.
As a chamber musician, he has performed at many festivals, including the BBC Proms, Kwartesencja, Warsaw Autumn, Musica Polonica Nova, Chopin and his Europe, and the Ensemble Princess Daisy International Festival of Chamber Music.
Januchta studied the double bass with Kazimierz Jendrysiak and Professor Andrzej Mysiński and is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. He won 2nd Prize at the Polish National Double Bass Competition in Elbląg and an honorary mention at the Polish National Adam Bronisław Ciechański Double Bass Competition in Poznań.
Tomasz Januchta lectures at the Ensemble Princess Daisy International Festival of Chamber Music. He composes and improvises music to film, theatre and video art.
