Bass
Studied at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław in the class of Professor Bogdan Makal (diploma with distinction) and at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, in the class of Professor Olaf Bӓr. Holder of successive scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Minister of Science and Higher Education, and Mayor of Wrocław, he is currently continuing his education at doctoral level and working as an assistant at his alma mater.
A participant in the Opera Academy: Young Talents Development Programme of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw, he has won numerous awards at national and international competitions in Kyiv, Wrocław, Suwałki, Gdańsk, Białystok, Druskininkai, Włoszakowice, and Kaunas. He has participated in master classes with Richard Cross, Andrzej Dobber, Urszula Kryger, Eytan Pessen, Maxian Rexroth, Neil Shicoff, Włodzimierz Zalewski, and Teresa Żylis-Gara, worked with a wealth of directors, notably Benjamin Bayl, Marzena Diakun, Heiko Förster, Ekkehard Klemm, Kazimierz Kord, Andrzej Kosendiak, Przemysław Stanisławski, Andriy Yurkevych, and Tadeusz Zathey, and performed at the Wratislavia Cantans International Festival, Prague Spring International Festival, Bydgoszcz Opera Festival, the Polish Music Festival in Kraków, and the May with Early Music Festival in Wrocław.
In 2014, Kołodziej debuted as Claudio in Handel’s Agrippina at the Stanisławowski Theatre in Warsaw. He has also been Sarastro (Magic Flute), Seneca (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Ariodate (Serse), and Thomassini in Józef Michał Poniatowski’s opera Au travers du mur. He collaborates with the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw, the National Theatre in Prague, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, and the philharmonics of Lower Silesia and Wrocław.
