Jennifer Feinstein

Jennifer Feinstein. Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Feinstein has been likened by the Los Angeles Times to “a young Horne, so rich is her mezzo and so full of spark was she on stage”. The Santa Barbara Independent praised her “remarkable, expressive voice reaching through the pain towards transcendence in a setting of Nietzsche’s ‘Midnight Song’,” and Opera News recently called her Elvira “a comic delight”.

Feinstein made her role and house debuts as Santuzza/Cavalleria Rusticana at Theater Münster in the 2015/16 season, as well as Olga/Eugene Onegin with Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. She sang Carmen with St. Petersburg Opera (Florida), and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Caramoor Festival in the summer of 2015.

Recent engagements have included Donna Elvira/Don Giovanni with Opera Memphis; Maddalena/Rigoletto and Sofia in Moniuszko’s Halka with Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern; multiple roles in the world premiere of Myers’s Buried Alive and Soluri’s Embedded with Fargo-Moorhead Opera; Adalgisa/Norma with St. Petersburg Opera; Mozart’s Requiem and Mendelssohn’s Die erste Walpurgisnacht with Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall; and Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky with Symphoria under Jose-Luis Novo.

She has performed Marchesa del Poggio/Un Giorno di Regno with Sarasota Opera; Maddalena with Lyric Opera of Baltimore; Madame Dangeville/Adriana Lecouvreur with Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall; Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with Richmond Symphony; Mrs. Nolan/The Medium with Spoleto Festival USA; Francisca in Donizetti’s Maria Padilla with Warsaw’s Beethoven Easter Festival; and Verdi’s Requiem with Waterbury Symphony Orchestra.
