Eric Barry

Eric Barry. Winner of the Bel Canto Prize at the 2016 Maryland Lyric Opera Competition, Spanish-American tenor Eric Barry has a close association with the Beethoven Easter Festival and the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, for whom he has sung and recorded Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, The Turn of the Screw, Maria Padilla, Iphigénie en Tauride, At the Boar’s Head, L’Amore dei Tre Re and Simon Boccanegra.

Companies with which he has worked included Amarillo Opera, the Florentine Opera Company, Indianapolis Opera, North Carolina Opera, Opera Memphis, Pittsburgh Opera, Shreveport Opera, Syracuse Opera, and the Teatro Comunale di Sulmona. His repertoire includes Nemorino/L’elisir d’amore, Rodolfo/La Bohème, Pinkerton/Madama Butterfly, Tom Rakewell/The Rake’s Progress), Lensky/Eugene Onegin, The Duke of Mantua/Rigoletto and Alfredo/La traviata. Regular concert appearances have included performances with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, Utah Symphony and Winston-Salem Symphony.

Eric Barry’s future engagements include debuts with Opera Colorado as Edgardo/Lucia di Lammermoor and Opera San Antonio as Macduff/Macbeth and a return to Madison Symphony Orchestra.
