Founder, ArtisticDirector and conductor of the Poznan ChamberChoir, Director of the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir,originator and Director of the Opus 966 PolishComposer Competition, author of the Pisz muzykę– to proste! (Write Music – It’s Easy) composingworkshops for children and young people, and alsoco-author of the Obrazogranie project organised aspart of the Biennale of Art for Children in Poznań.Michałowski graduated with honours in choralconducting from the Ignacy Jan PaderewskiAcademy of Music in Poznań. He is the winnerof the 9th Polish National Choral ConductorsCompetition as well as a special prize for hisconscious work on voice production with choirs.For seven years (1998-2005), he was assistant toProfessor Stefan Stuligrosz and second conductorof the Poznań Philharmonic Choir. He has leddozens of concerts with this choir, and also withthe Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra and SinfoniaVarsovia, and performed many times with thePoznań Nightingales in Germany, France, Spain,Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Italy,Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania,Russia, and Japan.In 2005 he founded the Poznan Chamber Choir,today one of the most highly regarded Polish vocalensembles.As a conductor, Michałowski has so far rehearsedand presented several hundred a cappellapieces and vocal-instrumental forms from allmusical periods. Apart from his rich experienceas a conductor, for many years he has also beenhoning his skills and knowledge in the field ofvoice production by completing master classeswith Poppy Holden (Great Britain), ChristianElsner (Germany) and Józef Frakstein (Poland). Asa soloist, he has collaborated with Paul McCreesh,Jérémie Rhorer, Stefan Stuligrosz, and MarcinSompoliński, amongst others.
