A coloratura soprano,Antonina Vesenina was born in Voronezh. In 2010she obtained a master’s degree from VoronezhState Academy of Music. After her graduation, shejoined St Petersburg Chamber Opera where sheperformed the roles of Gilda/Rigoletto, Lucia/TheRape of Lucretia and Genovieffa/Suor Angelica.She joined the Mariinsky Academy of Young OperaSingers in 2011 and in 2014 made her debutin Mariinsky as the Queen of the Night. In the2014/15 season Antonia Vesenina participatedin the premieres of Il barbiere di Siviglia and TheGolden Cockerel at the Mariinsky Theatre.She performs as a guest soloist in the DeutscheOper am Rhein (Düsseldorf) and in the KomischeOper Berlin. In 2016, Vesenina performed the roleof the Queen of Shemakha with great success at thepremiere of The Golden Cockerel staged by DmitryBertman in the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.The singer regularly participated in differentconcerts of the Academy of Young Opera Singers inthe UK, Italy, Austria, France, and Spain. Moreover,she has participated in master classes by ElenaObraztsova, Larisa Gergieva and Gegham Grigorian.Vesenina has won accolades at several operacompetitions, including 4th Prize at the prestigious15th International Tchaikovsky Competition (2015),3rd Prize at the 51st Concours international dechant de Toulouse (2016), 1st prize at the NadezhdaObukhova Russian National Competition forYoung Vocalists (2016), and the Grand Prix at theInternational Young Opera Singers’ CompetitionOpera Without Borders in Krasnodar (2014).
