Performance Recording

Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 is one of the greatest works ever written and, for more than two centuries, has stood as a symbol of determination, resilience and ultimate triumph. Completed in 1808, it transformed the course of the symphony and remains one of the defining achievements of Beethoven's career.

Its famous four-note opening – often described as the "fate motif" – is instantly recognisable around the world. From these four notes, Beethoven creates an extraordinary musical journey, moving from tension and uncertainty to a radiant, triumphant finale. The result is a work of remarkable dramatic power, structural unity and emotional impact.

The orchestra is conducted by Jong-Jie Yin, winner of First Prize at the 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Conducting Competition and one of the most exciting young conductors of his generation. He is joined by Sinfonietta Cracovia, one of Poland's leading chamber orchestras, celebrated for its versatility, technical brilliance and acclaimed performances of both classical and contemporary repertoire.
