Preparations for the 21st Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival are taking place. The events of this Festival were named by Gazeta Wyborcza (no. 305 / 31.12.2016 / 01.01.2017) one of the most anticipated cultural projects realized in Warsaw in 2017.
During this year’s festival over 20 concerts are planned with the participation of Choir and Orchestra of the National Philharmonic, the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, as well as foreign artists such as Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken, State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and others. The festival audience will listen to a concert performance of Igor Stravinsky’s opera The Rake, with the participation of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Alexander Liebreich. In the series of Unknown Operas the works of Jules Massenet Girl from Navarre and George Bizet Djamileh will be presented and will involve the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Lukasz Borowicz. The music of Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Mahler will fill the concert halls.
