Beethoven Fryderyk Awards?

Gala of 2016 Fryderyk Phonographic Academy Prize will be held on April 20 and 21 in Warsaw. In the category of “classical music” artists and projects under the flag of the Ludwig van Beethoven Association were nominated!

On April 20 at the Polish Theatre in Warsaw the Gala of Phonographic Academy Awards – Fryderyk 2016 in the category of popular music and jazz is scheduled. One of the main characters of gala will be the famous musician and composer Jean Michel Jarre. A day later, in the Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio will be 2016 Fryderyk Awards Gala in the categories of classical music. Just to recall that for these particular awards the artists and projects under the flag of Ludwig van Beethoven Association were nominated.

In the category of Album of the Year “Solo Recital” Szymon Nehring was nominated, for the recording of “Chopin, Szymanowski, Mykietyn” recorded jointly by the Ludwig van Beethoven Association and DUX Recording company.

In the category of Album of the Year “Choral Music, Oratorio and Opera” the recording of the opera “The Turn Of The Screw” by Benjamin Britten was nominated. The premiere and recording of the opera took place during the 19th edition of the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw. The publishers of this album were also Ludwig van Beethoven Association and the DUX Recording company.

In two categories – Album of the Year “Chamber Music” and Best Recording of Polish Music the Meccore String Quartet was nominated for the recording of “Szymanowski & Debussy”, issued by the Polish Recordings. Meccore String Quartet is also represented by the Ludwig van Beethoven Association.

2016 Fryderyk Awards in the categories of classical music will be held on Thursday, April 21, in the Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio (7:30 PM) and will be live broadcasted on Polish Radio Program 2. During the ceremony will include performances of the above mentioned and represented by Ludwig van Beethoven Association artists: Szymon Nehring and Meccore String Quartet. The artists will be accompanied by the Polish Radio Orchestra under the direction of Krzesimir Dębski.
