At the urn containing her ashes, Sinfonietta Cracovia artists will fill the church with music, and actors Dominika Bednarczyk and Rados\u0142aw Krzy\u017cowski will perform poetry by Cyprian Kamil Norwid and Czes\u0142aw Mi\u0142osz. Anyone wishing to honor the memory of the late El\u017cbieta Penderecka will be able to sign the memorial book.<\/p>\n<p>The funeral will take place the following day, Saturday, November 8, at 12:00 PM, at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The musical performers for the funeral will be: Polish Radio Choir \u2013 Lus\u0142awice, Iwona Hossa \u2013 soprano, Maciej Tworek \u2013 conductor, Jurek Dyba\u0142 \u2013 conductor, and Andrzej Bia\u0142ko \u2013 organ.<\/p>\n<p>El\u017cbieta Penderecka passed away suddenly on October 31st of this year. She was a patron of culture of great stature: the idea maker and organizer of important artistic events in Poland and around the world, and the founder of international festivals. She was involved in educational projects that developed young musicians and supported the careers of Polish artists and ensembles. It was thanks to her efforts that Sinfonietta Cracovia and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra were founded. She created and organized the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, considered one of the most important classical music festivals, for 29 editions.<\/p>\n<p>El\u017cbieta Penderecka&#8217;s involvement with Krzysztof Penderecki was of immense significance for the world of music and culture. From 1965, she ran his office, and after the composer&#8217;s death, she ensured the preservation of his creative legacy.<br \/>\nEl\u017cbieta Penderecka&#8217;s culture-building work, spanning several decades, leaves a lasting mark on Polish culture.<\/p>\n<p>The family and co-organizers of the funeral of the late El\u017cbieta Penderecka would like to express their sincere gratitude for the help and support of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Ma\u0142opolska Voivodeship Office in Krakow, the Krakow City Hall, the Jagiellonian University, the National Museum in Krakow, the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Krakow Sinfonietta Cracovia, the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Krakow, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Krakow, and all the people and institutions involved.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4277\" src=\"http:\/\/beethoven.org.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/eng-300x174.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/beethoven.org.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/eng-300x174.jpg 300w, https:\/\/beethoven.org.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/eng.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, November 7, at 7:00 PM, an evening dedicated to the memory of El\u017cbieta Penderecka will be held at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
