She is a laureate of many international competitions, including the J\u00f3zsef Szigeti International Violin and Viola Competition in Budapest (2012, First Prize) and the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Pozna\u0144 (2011, Wanda Wi\u0142komirska\u2019s Prize for the best performance of a work by Karol Szymanowski and a Special Prize of the Critics\u2019 Chapter). The artist also won Second Prize at the Gra\u017cyna Bacewicz International Violin Competition in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a (December 2019), Second Prize and special prizes at the 6th Tadeusz Wro\u0144ski International Solo Violin Competition (2020). Recently, together with pianist Marcin Koziak, she won Third Prize at the 2nd International Stanis\u0142aw Moniuszko Competition of Polish Music in the chamber ensembles category (2021).<\/p>\n<p>She was a student of Kaja Danczowska at the Academy of Music in Krakow, where she graduated in 2015. Since 2016 she has worked as Assistant Lecturer at the Academy\u2019s Violin and Viola Department.<\/p>\n<p>Aleksandra Kuls has performed as a soloist in Poland (e.g. with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Krak\u00f3w Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra of Katowice, Sinfonia Varsovia), the USA, Italy, France, Spain (Real Filharmonia de Galicia and Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Navarra), Germany (Zielona G\u00f3ra Philharmonic Orchestra), Brazil (Orquestra Sinfonica do Paran\u00e1), Turkey (Istanbul Devlet Senfoni Orkestras\u0131), Hungary (Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Duna Symphony Orchestra), Ukraine (Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra), China (China Philharmonic Orchestra), and took part in many international festivals: Chopin and his Europe (2012-2015), Polish Culture Festival in Beijing (2014), Krzysztof Penderecki Festival in Warsaw (2013), International Kaposv\u00e1r Chamber Music Festival in Hungary (2013), Music in Old Krakow (2012), and International Festival of Young Laureates of Music Contests in Katowice (2012). The artist had an honour of working with conductors such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Tadeusz Struga\u0142a, Antoni Wit, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Micha\u0142 Dworzy\u0144ski, Andr\u00e9s Mustonen, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Yang Yang and many others. She participated in master classes with Maxim Vengerov.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years Aleksandra Kuls was granted many scholarships and awards for artistic achievements, including \u201cPolityka\u2019s Passport 2011\u201d in the classical music category, an award and scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2011, 2012), a scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education (2012), and \u201cM\u0142oda Polska\u201d scholarship for recording a debut CD album (2013).<\/p>\n<p>The artist recorded two CD albums for DUX Recording Producers (one with pianist Justyna Danczowska, the other featuring pieces for violin solo only) as well as the Violin Concerto by the Polish composer Ignacy Waghalter (recorded with Andr\u00e9s Mustonen and Sinfonia Varsovia),<\/p>\n<p>Giorgy Catoire&#8217;s violin works (in duo with J. Danczowska for Sarton Records), Stefan Poradowski\u2019s Polish Rhapsody (with Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, conductor Pawe\u0142 Przytocki), and Sofia Gubaidulina\u2019s Offertorium (live DVD from a concert at the castle in Pieskowa Ska\u0142a, CORda Cracovia orchestra conducted by Marek Mo\u015b).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Winner of the second prize and special prizes at the 6th Tadeusz Wro\u0144ski International Solo Violin Competition (2020). &nbsp; Aleksandra Kuls was born in 1991.
