Awarded and appreciated for his performance of Fryderyk Chopin\u2019s music and Polish music. The artist has performed at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, among others: International Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdr\u00f3j, Festival \u201cChopin and His Europe\u201d, Festival Chopin \u00e0 Paris, New Year Music Festival in Gstaad, Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw. He has given concerts in Europe, Africa, the United States and Asia. He has performed under the baton of such conductors as Antoni Wit, Jacek Kaspszyk, Tadeusz Struga\u0142a, Grzegorz Nowak, V\u00e1clav Luks, Jose Maria Florencio, Yu Feng, George Tchitchinadze, \u0141ukasz Borowicz and Ewa Strusi\u0144ska. A wide area of musical interests places him among the most universal artists of his generation. Apart from the canon of works by the most famous composers, he also reaches for less known pieces (e.g. Piano Concerto by S. Wis\u0142ocki, Symphonic Rhapsody for piano and orchestra by Z. Stojowski, Variations on a Nursery Theme by E. von Dohnanyi, or Yellow River Piano Concerto). He does not avoid the newest music either (Concerto for piano and percussion by Zbigniew Bargielski, piano music by Rafa\u0142 Augustyn). The artist derives great joy from performing music on historical instruments, the best proof of which, apart from cooperation with such ensembles as Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Collegium 1704 or {oh!} Historical Orchestra, is the recording of a recital on a replica of Chopin\u2019s Warsaw piano \u2013 Buchholtz from about 1825. An important part of his activity is chamber music, which he studied under Prof. Kaja Danczowska, Prof. Maria Szwajger-Ku\u0142akowska and Dr. hab. S\u0142awomir Cierpik, dr hab. Bart\u0142omiej Kominek, Silver-Garburg Piano Duo. Together with his wife Agnieszka Zahaczewska-Ksi\u0105\u017cek, he co-founded the Ksi\u0105\u017cek Piano Duo. The ensemble won First Prize at the Second International Polish Music Competition in Rzesz\u00f3w (2021) and Second Prize at the 12th<\/sup> International Chamber Music Competition \u201cFranz Schubert and Modern Music\u201d in Graz (Austria, 2025). It permanently cooperates with singer and composer Agata Zubel. Their album \u201cApparition\u201d with songs by 20th century composers was awarded with FRYDERYK 2020. The pianist\u2019s discography includes, apart from the aforementioned, records with Augustyn\u2019s and Chopin\u2019s music, suites for two pianos by Anton Arensky and Sergey Rachmaninoff, and music for piano four hands by Polish composers of early 19th<\/sup> century. Krzysztof Ksi\u0105\u017cek is a graduate of the Academies of Music in Krak\u00f3w and Bydgoszcz in the class of Professor Stefan Wojtas and of the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in the class of Professor Arie Vardi. He was a recipient of the \u201cM\u0142oda Polska\u201d scholarship programme.
