She completed her studies with distinction at the Faculty of Vocals and Acting at the Stanis\u0142aw Moniuszko Music Academy in Gda\u0144sk, later she concluded her studies at the <em>Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater<\/em> in Hamburg also with distinction. In addition Karolina was granted scholarships from The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and also received the prestigious DAAD scholarship in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Karolina took part in vocal masterclasses led by Rolando Panerai, Paul Esswood, Larissa Gergieva, Ingrid Kremling, Angela Denoke, Gerhard Kahry, Margreet Honig and Richard Cross.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She is a prizewinner of <em>The IV L. R\u00f3\u017cycki International Singing Competition <\/em>in Gliwice (1st Prize), <em>The VI N. Rimsky\u2013Korsakov International Singing Competition for Young Vocalists, held in The Maryinski Theatre St. Petersburg <\/em>(3<sup>rd<\/sup> Prize, 3 special Prizes), <em>The 23<sup>rd<\/sup> Robert Stolz International Operetta Competition <\/em>(2nd Prize) in Hamburg, <em>Elise Meyer Competition<\/em>, Hamburg (1st Prize).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She successfully performs oratorio and cantata music from baroque to contemporary music. She has appeared on numerous festivals and concert scenes worldwide presenting rich oratorio, cantata and chamber music repertoire: <em>La Folle Journee au Japon Tokio<\/em> (Japan), Tokio Opera City Hall, Nagoya Aichi Culture Center, <em>The Symphony Hall<\/em>, Osaka, <em>Mozarteum Brasileiro<\/em> (S\u00e3o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil<em>)<\/em>, Kanazawa<strong><em> Ishikawa Concert Hall <\/em><\/strong><strong>(Japan), <em>Shanghai Concert Hall together with The Shanghai Symphony Orchestr<\/em>a (China), <\/strong><em>Victoria Concert Hall<\/em> (Singapur), <em>Tel Aviv Opera House<\/em>; <em>Jerusalem The Henry Crown Hall<\/em> (Israel), Johannesburg, <em>Linder Auditorium<\/em> (South Africa), Istanbul, <em>Hagia Ireni Istanbul Festival<\/em> (Turkey), Granada, <em>Granada Festival<\/em>; Santander, <em>Sala Argenta<\/em> (Spain), <em>Sun Moon Lake Festival<\/em> (Taiwan), <strong><em>Rheingau Musik Festival<\/em><\/strong><strong> (Germany), <em>H\u00e4ndel-Festspiele<\/em>, Dom Halle, <em>Bodenseefestival Konstanz <\/em>(Germany)<em>, <\/em><\/strong>\u201c<em>48 Stagione Concertistica 2007<\/em>\u201d Festival at <em>Politeama Garibaldi<\/em> in Palermo (Sicily), <em>Polish Music Festival<\/em> in Lviv\u00a0 (Ukraine), <em>Mikkeli Music Festival<\/em> (Finland), <em>Festival Emanacje<\/em> (Krak\u00f3w, Poland), <em>Festival Casals San Juan<\/em> (Puerto Rico), <em>Yuri Bashmet Festival<\/em> in Minsk (Belarus), <em>Prague Spring Festival<\/em> (Czech Republic).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Karolina Sikora made her operatic debut in the role of <em>H\u00e4nsel<\/em> in the Humperdinck\u2019s opera \u201c<em>H\u00e4nsel and Gretel\u201d<\/em> at the Staatstheater L\u00fcneburg. She then performed the part of <em>M\u00e8re Marie<\/em> in Poulenc\u2019s \u201c<em>Dialogues of the Carmelites\u201d <\/em>at the Theater Forum in Hamburg. Furthermore she participated in the stage production of Bach\u2019s \u201c<em>The Passion of St. John\u201d<\/em> directed by Bob Wilson in coproduction with the <em>Kiel Opera<\/em> (Germany).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since September 2009 she is cooperating with the Opera Ba\u0142tycka in Gda\u0144sk, where she performed in the following roles: <em>Composer <\/em>in Strauss\u2019 \u201c<em>Ariadne auf Naxos\u201d<\/em>, <em>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Lady<\/em> in Mozart\u2019s \u201c<em>The Magic Flute\u201d, Lady<\/em> in Verdi\u2019s<em> \u201cMakbet\u201d, Olga<\/em> in Czajkowski\u2019s<em> \u201cEugen Oniegin\u201d, Mother Ubu<\/em> in Penderecki\u2019s<em> \u201cUbu Rex\u201d, Rosa Sacchi <\/em>in Penderecki\u2019s \u201c<em>Die schwarze Maske\u201d,<\/em> <em>Dorabella<\/em> in Mozart\u2019s<em> \u201cCosi fan tutte\u201d, Jadwiga <\/em>in Moniuszko\u2019s<em> \u201cThe Haunted Manor\u201d. Santuzza <\/em>in Mascagni\u2019s \u201c<em>Cavalleria Rusticana\u201d, Fenena <\/em>in Verdi\u2019s \u201e<em>Nabucco\u201d, Amneris <\/em>in Verdi\u2019s \u201e<em>Aida\u201d <\/em>among others.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She is regularly cooperating with the National Opera House in Warsaw performing <em>Olga<\/em> in Tchaikovsky\u2019s \u201c<em>Eugen Onegin\u201d<\/em> directed by Mariusz Trelinski, <em>Maddalena<\/em> in Verdi\u2019s \u201c<em>Rigoletto\u201d<\/em> directed by Gilbert Deflo, in the renowned production of Suzanne Andrade and Barrie Kosky in Mozart\u2019s \u201c<em>The Magic Flute\u201d<\/em> (<em>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Lady<\/em>) and in Debussy\u2019s \u201c<em>Pell\u00e9as et M\u00e9lisande\u201d (<\/em><em>Genevi\u00e8ve) <\/em>directed by Katie Mitchell in cooperation with Festival Aix-en-Provence in France. Furthermore, in the Opera House of Cracow she performed the role of <em>Giovanna Seymour<\/em> in Donizetti\u2019s \u201c<em>Anna Bolena\u201d<\/em> and in Szczecin in a very acclaimed production of Britten\u2019s \u201cThe <em>Turn of the Screw\u201d<\/em> performing the role of <em>Miss Jessel<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She has worked with such conductors as <\/strong>Christoph Eschenbach, Jacek Kaspszyk, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Lawrence Foster, Andr\u00e9s Orozco-Estrada, Thomas Hengelbrock, Krzysztof Penderecki, Lothar Koenigs, \u0141ukasz Borowicz, Tadeusz Koz\u0142owski, Andriy Yurkevych, George Tchitchinadze, Pawe\u0142 Przytocki, Wojciech Michniewski, Friedrich Haider, J\u00f6rg-Peter Weigle, Carlo Montanaro, Patrick Fournillier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Karolina Sikora was awarded the City of Gda\u0144sk Prize <em>M\u0142ody Tw\u00f3rca Kultury<\/em> (Young Creator of Culture) and Best Polish Female Singer for the <em>Jan Kiepura Music Theatre Awards<\/em> in Poland.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a guest soloist of the ensemble of Komische Oper Berlin she made her stage debut at Opera Houses in Moscow (<em>Theatre Bolshoi<\/em>), Paris (<em>Th\u00e9\u00e2tre national de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra Comique<\/em>) as well took part in tours to Japan, China, Macau, Taiwan performing operas staged by Barrie Kosky.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Karolina Sikora worked closely with late Professor Krzysztof Penderecki. She has repeatedly participated in concerts conducted by the composer himself in Poland and abroad, performing his works: <em>Credo, Seven Gates of Jerusalem, Te Deum<\/em>.
