Poland\u2019s leading vocal chamber ensemble, known for superb interpretations of early and contemporary music, was established by Anna Szostak in 1990.<\/p>\n
Each year, the ensemble, which officially represents the city of Katowice, gives numerous concerts in Poland and abroad in the most prestigious centres. It performs regularly in the building of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. The ensemble\u2019s presence at renowned festivals such as Warsaw Autumn, the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, Festival of Premieres Polish Modern Music, \u201cChopin and His Europe\u201d, Wratislavia Cantans, Bregenz Festival, and the ISCM World Music Days, is highly acclaimed by music critics around the world.<\/p>\n
Camerata Silesia\u2019s achievements in the international domain have been appreciated by Krzysztof Penderecki, under whose baton it has appeared many times in his monumental works the St\u00a0Luke Passion<\/em>, Polish Requiem<\/em> and Seven Gates of Jerusalem<\/em>, in (among other places) M\u00fcnster, Krak\u00f3w and Hamburg; at Warsaw Autumn, the ensemble took part in a highly rated performance of his Canticum Canticorum<\/em>.<\/p>\n Camerata Silesia has collaborated with artists of such stature as Emma Kirkby, Barbara Schlick, Jos\u00e9 Carreras<\/em>, <\/em>Leszek Mo\u017cd\u017cer, Tomasz Sta\u0144ko, Paco Pe\u00f1a, and the London Baroque Ensemble.<\/p>\n Its discography includes some several dozen albums, recordings for radio and television, as well as live concerts for the European Broadcasting Union.
