He has prepared numerous premieres of operas, including several world premieres, among them Szymanowski\u2019s unknown operetta <em>Lottery for Husbands or Fianc\u00e9 No. 69<\/em> at the Polish Music Festival. His interpretation of Britten\u2019s <em>The Rape of Lucretia<\/em>, staged in 2004, was hailed the best performance of the year at the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival. Su\u0142kowski is a co-founder of the Krak\u00f3w Chamber Opera, and was deputy director of the Polish Radio Choir (2008\u201309), music director of the Toru\u0144 Symphony Orchestra from 2009 to 2011, and first guest conductor of the Tulsa Signature Symphony (US) from 2008 to 2014. The founder and artistic director of the Barbican Festival, he launched the National Pantheon Foundation in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Su\u0142kowski has collaborated with many orchestras, and has also taught conducting classes at the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010 he prepared and conducted the first performance of Bizet\u2019s <em>Carmen<\/em> with Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Navarra and the Premier Ensemble de la A.G.A.O. choir in Pamplona in Spain. He also has led the international opera project <em>Fidelio<\/em> \u2013 <em>to the Victims of the Holocaust. <\/em>Together with the Warmia and Mazury Philharmonic Orchestra he performed Puccini\u2019s <em>Tosca<\/em> in Spain (2011).<\/p>\n<p>In 2011 Su\u0142kowski received his PhD, and in 2015 his post-doctoral degree in music. From 2012 to 2016 he was a member of the Programme Board of the Olsztyn Radio. He is also the deputy president of the Board of the Association of Polish Philharmonics.
