Australian-born tenor Adrian Strooper began his career as a soloist after winning numerous singing competitions, which took his career to America and Europe. As a young singer he joined the Opernstudio at the Cologne Opera and was a member of the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festspiel. In 2006 he began his permanent contract at the Komische Oper Berlin, where he is now resident tenor and performs the roles of Lenski\/<em>Eugene Onegin<\/em>, Don Ottavio\/<em>Don Giovanni<\/em>, and Tamino\/<em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em>, which he tours extensively, performing in theatres such as Liceu Barcelona, Op\u00e9ra Comique Paris, Grand Theatre Shanghai and Bolshoi Theatre Moscow. In the 2017 Adelaide Festival, he debuted the role of Jonathan in Barrie Kosky\u2019s Glyndebourne production of <em>Saul<\/em> by Handel.<\/p>\n<p>Further roles in Strooper\u2019s repertoire include Belmonte\/<em>Die Entf\u00fchrung aus dem Serail<\/em>, Ernesto\/<em>Don Pasquale<\/em>, Ferrando\/<em>Cos<\/em><em>\u00ec<\/em><em> fan tutte<\/em>, Lysander\/<em>Sommernachtstraum<\/em>, Rinuccio\/<em>Gianni Schicchi<\/em>, Jupiter\/<em>Semele<\/em>, Brighella\/<em>Ariadne auf Naxos<\/em> and der junge Graf\/<em>Die Soldaten<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>He has performed in a guest capacity at the Semperoper Dresden, Oper Leipzig, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Staatstheater am G\u00e4rtnerplatz, Theater Bremen, Toulon Opera, New Zealand Opera and Australian Opera. His concert repertoire includes the works of Haydn, Handel, Beethoven and Mendelssohn and he has sung with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, Noord Nederlandse Orchestra and Latvijas Concerti in Riga. He has also performed at Innsbruck Festspiel der Alte Musik, Salzburg Festspiel and Festival d\u2019Aix en Provence.<\/p>\n<p>Strooper has enjoyed working with conductors such as Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin, Simone Young, Sebastian Weigle, Ren\u00e9 Jacobs, Henrik N\u00e1n\u00e1si, Marco Comin, Paul Goodwin, Roy Goodman and Alessandro de Marchi.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adrian Strooper.
