At the same time he began studying opera singing with Maestro Vittorio Terranova and Franco Corelli.<\/p>\n<p>He debuted in 1998 at the Politeama Theatre in Palermo as lead singer in the opera <em>Pierre<\/em> <em>Gringoire<\/em> by Antonio Scontrino. Subsequently he played Alfredo in <em>La traviata<\/em> at the State Theatre in Prague and Captain Macheath in <em>The Beggar\u2019s Opera<\/em> by Britten at the Coccia Theatre in Novara. He was Canio (<em>Pagliacci<\/em>) at the Comunale Theatre in Bologna and Flavio (<em>Norma<\/em>) at the Sferisterio in Macerata.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2000 he sang at the San Carlo Theatre in\u00a0Naples in Verdi\u2019s <em>I due Foscari<\/em>, which was recorded for DVD release. He also sang the same opera at the Rome Opera House and at the Op\u00e9ra de Monte Carlo, as well as, in January 2001, in Budapest at the Ferenc Liszt Academy, opening the Verdi celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently he debuted the leading roles in <em>Carmen<\/em>, <em>Norma<\/em>, <em>Ballo in maschera<\/em>, <em>Don Carlos<\/em>, <em>Nabucco<\/em>, <em>Cavalleria\u00a0rusticana<\/em>, <em>Aida<\/em>, <em>Manon Lescaut<\/em>, and <em>Il<\/em> <em>trovatore<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently perfecting his technique with tenor Nicola Martinucci in Milan.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leopoldo Lo Sciuto, tenor, began his musical education studying at the Department of Art, Music and Theatre in Bologna, graduating in History of 19th-century Italian Opera.
