A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. In 1984\u201395 he worked first as an assistant and subsequently as choir conductor at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. In 1995 he was appointed choir director of the Musical Theatre Roma, and since 1998 he has again worked with the Chorus of the Teatr Wielki \u2013 Polish National Opera.<\/p>\n<p>In his artistic career, Miros\u0142aw Janowski has prepared choirs to over 100 premieres and 2000 performances directed by Willy Decker, August Everding, Achim Freyer, Harry Kupfer, Keith Warner, Robert Wilson, Mariusz Treli\u0144ski, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Marek Weiss, and Micha\u0142 Znaniecki, in collaboration with such conductors as Jos\u00e9 Cura, Enrique Diemecke, Pl\u00e1cido Domingo, Patrick Fournillier, Valery Gergiev, Marc Minkowski, Alberto Zedda, \u0141ukasz Borowicz, Gabriel Chmura, Jacek Kaspszyk, Kazimierz Kord, Wojciech Michniewski, Krzysztof Penderecki, Andrzej Straszy\u0144ski, and Antoni Wit.<\/p>\n<p>He has conducted choirs for an array of productions, notably <em>Aida<\/em>, <em>Boris Godunov<\/em>, <em>Carmen<\/em>, <em>The<\/em> <em>Queen of Spades<\/em>, <em>The<\/em> <em>Devils of Loudun<\/em>, <em>Don Carlos<\/em>, <em>Halka<\/em>, <em>King Roger<\/em>, <em>The<\/em> <em>Flying Dutchman<\/em>, <em>Madame Butterfly<\/em>, <em>Manon Lescaut<\/em>, <em>Mary Stuart<\/em>, <em>Eugene Onegin<\/em>, <em>Paradise Lost<\/em>, <em>Turandot<\/em>, <em>Wilhelm Tell<\/em> and many others. He has also prepared choirs for operettas and musicals (including <em>West Side Story<\/em> and <em>Wonderful Town<\/em>) and worked for the Walt Disney and Warner Bros studios. Miros\u0142aw Janowski was artistic director of the Harfa Singers Society, has conducted the Polish Radio Orchestra and Sinfonia Varsovia, and currently collaborates with the Romuald Traugutt Philharmonic, for which he has recorded patriotic songs with the Media Choir ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miros\u0142aw Janowski.
