Holding the post of first conductor and Artistic Director of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) since 2012, he has gained recognition in Poland for rediscovery of the orchestra\u2019s sound and melding it into the ensemble\u2019s rich tradition.<\/p>\n<p>From 2006 to 2016, he was also the head of the Munich Chamber Orchestra: under his baton, the orchestra has made vast progress, enriching the city\u2019s musical life. He has also had a great impact on the International Music Festival in Tongyeong (South Korea), which he led between 2011 and 2014. He is also Artistic Director of the Katowice Culture Nature Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Liebreich\u2019s charismatic and evocative interpretations of many works representing various performance styles allow him to continuously discover new perspectives, yet at the same time remain aware of the historical, political and social aspects of music as well as the fact that an author\u2019s obligation towards future generations is to describe the present time.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Regensburg, he soaked up the choral tradition of his hometown from his early years. Apart from conducting, he undertook vocal studies, and also explored romance languages and history of music.<\/p>\n<p>He has collaborated with many outstanding orchestras, and has recently debuted at such prestigious music centres as Musikverein in Vienna, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Cit\u00e9 de la Musique in Paris.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For Alexander Liebreich, conducting is a state of mind, where openness and curiosity are integral elements.
