Following Łukasz Krupiński’s Carnegie Hall debut last February, the pianist returns to the United States with a series of concerts. This time his tour consists of 5 performances (3 symphonic concerts and 2 recitals) in 4 U.S. cities. He will begin the tour with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on 27 and 28 October at the Kleinhans Music Hall with Ignacy Jan Paderewski’s Piano Concerto in A minor. The program also includes Praetorians’ March from Feliks Nowowiejski’s oratorio Quo Vadis – the most frequently performed Polish work around the world in the first half of the 20th century, as well as Pyotr Tchaikovky’s Symphony No. 3 “Polish”. It is worth noting that by including the “Polish” repertoire, the American orchestra joins the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence in 2018.
Two recitals with works by Chopin, Ravel, Rachmaninov and Scriabin will be the next leg of the pianist’s concert tour. On 31 October Łukasz Krupiński will appear at the Nazareth College Music Department in Rochester, New York. Several days later (4 November) he will present the same programme at the Bargemusic in New York. The recital will be held as part of the internationally known “Masterworks Series’”.
The concert tour concludes with a performance on 10 November, when the pianist will perform with the legendary Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. At the “Celebrate Polonia” concert, Łukasz Krupiński will again perform Paderewski’s Piano Concerto as well as Fryderyk Chopin’s Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante in E flat major. The orchestra will be led by the internationally renowned conductor Scott Speck, the orchestra’s artistic director.
