Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny

A member ofthe In terra pax Polish–German Choral Academy in1995–99, she set up the Con Amore Choir in WrocławSchool Cluster No. 1 in 1999. She was the conductorand artistic director of the Academy Choir of theTechnical University of Wrocław. In 2000 she set up theChamber Choir of the Medical Academy (today’s MediciCantantes Choir of the Medical University in Wrocław),with which she won numerous awards and honourablementions. She has been the artistic director of the NFMChoir since June 2006, and from January to July 2013she was artistic counsellor to the Polish Radio Choir.Franków-Żelazny has performed as guest conductorand choirmaster with many Polish and foreignensembles. She is the founder and artistic directorof the Polish National Youth Choir set up in 2013and conducted by the National Forum of Music (NFM),and the programme director of the Akademia Chóralnaproject. She runs a Choir Conducting Class and managesthe S. Krukowski Choir at the Facultyof Music Education, Choral Art, and Church Musicof the Academy of Music in Wrocław.Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny has released 12 CDs,and garnered 70 awards including the Gloria ArtisBronze Medal for Merit to Culture (2014). She hasperformed over 700 concerts in 19 European countries,the United States, Israel and Brazil, presenting800 choral and 200 vocal and instrumental works.She was the curator for Music priority in the Wrocław2016 European Capital of Culture programme.
