Concerts at the Krakow Philharmonic dedicated to the memory of Elżbieta Penderecka – November 14 and 15

On November 14th and 15th, the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Krakow will host concerts dedicated to the memory of Elżbieta Penderecka. The concerts will also commemorate the 92nd anniversary of Krzysztof Penderecki’s birth and the 10th anniversary of Jerzy Katlewicz’s death. The concert program will feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37, and Krzysztof Penderecki’s Symphony No. 2 “Christmas Eve”—a 1979 work that manifested a new stylistic period in the composer’s work and harkened back to the great Neo-Romantic symphony. Caleb Borick, American pianist and winner of the 2023 Telekom International Beethoven Competition, will be the soloist. The Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Alexander Humala.
