Veriko Tchumburidze

1st prize winner of the 15th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition 2016.

She began to play violin at the age of four under Selahattin Yunkuş. Continued her education with Prof. Lili Tchumburidze at Mersin University State Conservatory, and Dora Schwarzberg at Hochschule für Musik in Vienna as a scholar of project created by Güher & Süher Pekinel Young Musicians on World Stages (YMWS) with financial support of Tüpraş.

Having been accepted into the “Munich Musikhochschule”, Tchumburidze will continues her studies Ana Chumachenco and attends her master classes in various countries.

She worked also with Prof. Igor Ozim at “Youth Classics Masterclasses & Festival” and with Prof. Dora Schwarzberg at the “International Summer Academy”.

First-prize winner of Gülden Turali National Violin Competition (2004), Georgian National Competition (2006), and 7th International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (2012),  in 2013 she was invited to attend Seiji Ozawa Academy master class and took part in Verbier Festival in Switzerland.

Tchumburidze was selected as “Best Emerging Musician” by Andante music magazine in Turkey in 2013 and performed at the opening concert of the “41th Istanbul Music Festival” with the Borusan Symphony Orchestra.

As soloist, has performed with Eskişehir, Istanbul, Izmir and Bursa State Symphony Orchestras, and with Brandenburg Chamber Orchestra, Swiss Chamber Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Russion State Symphony Orchestra.

Thanks to “Orpheum Musik Stiftung” Zürich, she recorded together with the Munich Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Howard Griffiths for Sony Classics.

Veriko Tchumburidze plays on a violin made by Giambattista Guadagnini in 1756, which was provided her by the generosity of the “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben”.
