Steve Davislim began his professional careeras member of the ensemble of the Zurich Opera.On an international level, he appeared at the StateOpera Berlin (Almaviva/Le nozze di Figaro),at the State Opera Vienna (Tamino/DieZauberflöte), at the State Opera Hamburg (Lensky/Eugene Onegin, Tom/The Rake’s Progress,Almaviva), at the Royal Opera House, CoventGarden (Fenton/Falstaff), at the Châtelet Paris(Oberon) and at the Chicago Lyric Opera and atthe MET as Pedrillo/Die Entführung aus dem Serail.A turning point in his career was his debut asIdomeneo at the opening night of La Scala diMilano in December 2005. He was invited backto sing the title role in the world premiere ofTeneke by Fabio Vacchi and for Tamino.Recently, he sang Tom Rakewell/The Rake’sProgress in Helsinki, Schnittke’s Faust Cantataat the Vienna Musikverein, Liszt’s Faust Symphonyin Dresden as well as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphonyin Vienna, Hamburg, at the Styriarte 2016and at the Salzburg Festival 2016, Eliasat the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Tamino in Dresden,again Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in Sydney, Parisand Leipzig, Britten’s War Requiem in Philadelphia,Ferrando in a new production of Die Zauberflötein Geneva as well as Christus am Ölberg inInnsbruck, Bonn, Antwerpen and Amsterdam.Among Steve Davislim’s actual and futureengagements: Belmonte/Die Entführung ausdem Serail at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples,Die Walpurgisnacht, conducted by ThomasHengelbrock in Paris and Elias in Zurich, Dvořâk’sStabat Mater in Berlin, Mozart’s Mass in C minorin Munich, Augsburg and Würzburg, Mozart’sRequiem in Lisbon, Barcelona, Zaragozaand Madrid as well as Beethoven’s NinthSymphony in Bamberg.
