Simona Šaturová

 

Soprano

Simona Šaturová was born in Bratislava (Slovakia). She studied singing at the Bratislava Conservatory and attended various master classes, most notably with the Romanian soprano singer Ileana Cortrubas.

 

She regularly performs at the Théâtre de la Monnaie Brussels and Aalto-Theatre Essen and besides of numerous performances at the Prague National Theatre the soprano could also be heard on the stages of Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Théâtre du Châtelet Paris, Opéra de Monte Carlo, Oper Frankfurt and in Athen`s Megaron Concert Hall. Her repertoire includes e. g. the roles of Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Violetta Valéry (La traviata), Servilia (Titus), Gilda (Rigoletto), Konstanze (The Abduction from the Seraglio) and Elettra (Idomeneo).
More over Simona Šaturová has earned an international reputation as a concert and oratorio singer. Conductors with whom she has worked include among others C. Eschenbach, P. Herreweghe, Sir N. Marriner, M. Honeck, R. Beck, K. Nagano, H. Rilling, J. Bělohlávek, A. Fischer, Iván Fischer und C. Hogwood.
In 2015/16 season engagements lead the soprano singer under the direction of T. Netopil to Essen (Martinu: Ariane) and Budapest (Dvorak: Requiem), under A. Manze to the NDR Hannover and under H. Blomstedt to the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig (Beethoven: 9. Sinfonie) as well as under the baton of C. Dutoit to the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich (Rossini: Stabat mater).

 

In June 2009 the Orfeo label released her first solo recording with the NDR Radiophilharmonie under the title Haydn Arias which was labelled “Editor’s Choice” by Gramophone Magazine and in November 2014 her new solo recording Decade with arias of W. A. Mozart and J. Mysliveček was published.
