Poznań Chamber Choir

One of Poland’s most acclaimed choirs. Winnerof L’Orphée d’Or 2015 of the Académie du DisqueLyrique in Paris and nominee for the PolishFryderyk 2015 Award and recipient of a GoldAlbum.The ensemble was established in 2005 on theinitiative of Bartosz Michałowski, at the timeassistant to Professor Stefan Stuligrosz, the creatorof the famous Poznań Nightingales Boys’ andMen’s Choir of the Poznań Philharmonic, andcurrently the director of Warsaw PhilharmonicChoir. The conducting experience gained duringconcerts with the award-winning choir let theartist create an ensemble that was soon in greatdemand among major music institutions andfestival organisers.The Poznań Chamber Choir is the winner ofprestigious choral competitions and numerousspecial awards, among others for bestensemble vocal technique, best performanceof contemporary music, and best conductor. Itsspectacular success at the prestigious Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival paved the way to regularperformances at most acclaimed festivals.The Poznań Chamber Choir were the first inPoland to perform with the legendary ConcertoKöln Orchestra and the Irish Baroque Orchestra;the ensemble has also given many concerts withthe Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, the PolishRadio Orchestra, the Lower Silesia PhilharmonicOrchestra, the Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra,the Czech Virtuosi, and the legendary Dżem rockband. The choir has performed under eminentconductors, including Paul McCreesh, MarekPijarowski, Łukasz Borowicz, Paweł Przytocki,Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, and Monika Wolińska.The repertoire of the Poznań Chamber Choirincludes a cappella pieces from all the eras inthe history of music as well as vocal-instrumentalworks. It is also recognised for premiereperformances of music and the twelve recordedalbums.
