Nikolay Didenko

Russian bass Nikolay Didenkograduated from the Moscow Academy of Choral Art inboth singing and conducting. He was previously a soloistof the New Opera in Moscow and a member of theHouston Grand Opera Studio.His operatic roles include Don Geronio/Il Turco in Italiawith the Royal Danish Opera, Shostakovich’s Rayok atthe Liceu Barcelona, Cappelio/I Capuleti e I Montecchiwith Opera North (UK tour), Ramfis/Aida and Oroveso/Norma at the Teatro Comunale, Trieste, La Forza delDestino at the Cologne Opera, La Sonnambula at theBolshoi Theatre, Pistola/Falstaff at the Bilbao Opera andFilippo II/Don Carlo and Leporello/Don Giovanni bothwith the Cologne Opera. He continues to perform withmany significant companies across the world includingthe Houston Grand Opera, New York City Opera,Metropolitan Opera and Bilbao Opera. He recentlysang Don Pasquale at the Bolshoi Theatre and Iris at theFestival de Radio France in Montpellier.As a versatile performer, he is also established on theconcert platform performing with the MozarteumOrchestra Salzburg, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra,Concertgebouw Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestraand London Symphony Orchestra, to name a few.Engagements this season and beyond include ManonLescaut at the Cologne Opera, Verdi Requiem with theOrchestre National d’Ile de France and Gremin/EugeneOnegin at the Frankfurt Opera.Nikolay features on the award-winning disc PendereckiConducts Penderecki which won a Grammy for BestChoral Performance (2017).
