Mirosław Janowski

A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. In 1984–95he worked first as an assistant and subsequentlyas choir conductor at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw.In 1995 he was appointed choir director of theMusical Theatre Roma, and since 1998 he hasagain worked with the Choir of the Teatr Wielki –Polish National Opera to be entrusted the positionof its director in the season 2017/18.In his artistic career, Mirosław Janowski hasprepared choirs to over 100 premieres and2000 performances directed by Willy Decker,August Everding, Achim Freyer, Harry Kupfer,Keith Warner, Robert Wilson, Mariusz Treliński,Krzysztof Warlikowski, Marek Weiss, and MichałZnaniecki, working with such conductors as JoséCura, Enrique Diemecke, Plácido Domingo, PatrickFournillier, Valery Gergiev, Marc Minkowski,Alberto Zedda, Łukasz Borowicz, Gabriel Chmura,Jacek Kaspszyk, Kazimierz Kord, WojciechMichniewski, Krzysztof Penderecki, AndrzejStraszyński, and Antoni Wit.He has conducted choirs for an array ofproductions, notably Aida, Boris Godunov, Carmen,The Queen of Spades, The Devils of Loudun, DonCarlos, Halka, King Roger, The Flying Dutchman,Madame Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Mary Stuart,Eugene Onegin, Paradise Lost, Turandot, WilhelmTell, and many others. He has also prepared choirsfor operettas and musicals (including West SideStory and Wonderful Town), and worked for theWalt Disney and Warner Bros studios. MirosławJanowski was artistic director of the HarfaSingers Society, has conducted the Polish RadioSymphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Varsovia, andcurrently cooperates with the Romuald TrauguttPhilharmonic on the recording of patriotic songswith the Media Choir.
