Mariusz Bonaszewski

Mariusz Bonaszewski: theatre, film, TV, andradio actor. Graduate of the National Academy ofDramatic Arts in Warsaw. In 1988–97 an actor of theDramatyczny Theatre in Warsaw, and since 1997 hehas been a member of the National Theatre troupe.Bonaszewski has performed in dramas directed by JerzyGrzegorzewski (November Night, The Wedding, NewBloomusalem, Un-Divine Comedy), Janusz Wiśniewski(I have chosen All Soul’s Day today), Jan Englert (TheWater Hen, Kordian), Andrzej Seweryn (Richard II),Agnieszka Olsten (Nora, Othello), Stanisław Różewicz(The Old Woman Broods), Andrzej Domalik (Terminal 7),Natalia Korczakowska (Natan the Wiseman), KonstantinBogomolov (Ice), Michał Zadara (The Robbers), andPaweł Miśkiewicz (The Idiot).He has performed in feature films, including JerzyZalewski’s Gnoje, Wiesław Saniewski’s Deszczowyżołnierz, Barbara Sass’s Jak narkotyk, RadosławMarkiewicz’s Metanoia, Piotr Dumała’s Forest andEderly, Jan Jakub Kolski’s Venice, Paweł Sala’s MotherTeresa of Cats, Adriana Panek’s Daas, and WładysławPasikowski’s Jack Strong.His roles have won Mariusz Banaszewski many awards,including the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Prize from Teatrmonthly (twice) for the roles of Vytautas II in Błądzenieand Lucifer/Bukary/Lawyer in The Case directedby Jerzy Jarocki, he is also a recipient of the FeliksWarszawski and the Wielki Splendor prizes, and winnerof the Two Theatres Festival of the Polish Radio and TVTheatre. Bonaszewski has also been honoured with theSilver Cross of Merit (2005), Gloria Artis Bronze Medalfor Merit to Culture (2013), and the Gold Cross of Merit(2017).
