Joanna Rot

Completed her education withdistinction in the viola and solo singing classes ofthe Fryderyk Chopin School of Music in Opole, andgraduated from vocal studies at the Grażyna andKiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź underProfessor Urszula Kryger. She honed her skills at thesinging class of Professor Grażyna Winogrodzka andthe chamber music class of Professor Ulrich Eisenlohrat the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunstin Mannheim. Rot remained under the powerfulimpact of eminent baritone Olaf Bär, with whom shecontinued her education. She has also worked underthe supervision of excellent musicians, including JerzyArtysz, Udo Reinemann, Charlotte Lehmann, andJadwiga Rappé.The artist won the 4th Richard Strauss InternationalCompetition in Sofia and the 18th Johannes BrahmsInternational Competition Pörtschach in Austria.Joanna Rot has performed in Poland and abroad,participating in a range of festivals including the AscoliPiceno Festival, Heidelberger Kammermusikfestival,Wratislavia Cantans, and the Kromer Biecz Festival.She inaugurated the Chopin Year in Stuttgart, and hascooperated with the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra,Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra in Sopot,the Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, and the CordeArmoniche ensemble.The artist is also keen on early music, successfullyperforming Renaissance, Baroque, and early classicistworks. In 2008 she started a chamber duo with pianistMichał Rot.
