Anna Duczmal-Mróz

Anna Duczmal-Mróz began her musicaleducation as a violinist. Her talent for conductingshowed at a rehearsal of the student orchestra atthe Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover,when Professor Eiji Oue invited volunteers to takeover the baton. Anna won the ”competition”, andwas offered the opportunity to study conducting.She graduated with distinction, conducting herdiploma concert with the NDR-Radiophilharmoniein Hanover in 2004.While still studying, she set up the studentBenjamin-Britten-Kammerorchester in Hanover,with whom she toured Germany, winning greatacclaim for the performance of Stravinsky’sThe Soldier’s Story and other works. She wasan assistant conductor to Eiji Oue at the NDRRadiophilharmonie (2004/05) and to Antoni Witat the Warsaw Philharmonic (2006/07). She hasconducted numerous concerts with orchestrasin Germany, Italy, Belgium, Austria, and SouthAmerica, and cooperated with Poland’s mostnotable orchestras.Since 2009 Anna Duczmal-Mróz has been secondconductor of the Amadeus Polish Radio ChamberOrchestra, with whom she regularly performsand records Polish music. She has conductedmasterclasses with Toruń Symphony Orchestraand pianists (Ilia Scheps, Robert McDonald, AndrzejJasiński) at the Paderewski Piano Academy. In 2014,she taught courses in conducting and conductedconcerts in South America.Her recording history includes CDs with CapellaBydgostiensis (20th-Century Hits for DUX underthe patronage of the Krzysztof Penderecki EuropeanCentre for Music) and the Amadeus Polish RadioChamber Orchestra: music of Sebastian Krajewski(DUX), and Weinberg’s Symphony No. 10 on the cpolabel which was nominated for the Fryderyk Awardof the Polish Recording Academy in 2016
